My family has been looking in the area for a wedding cake for my upcoming wedding. We got a recommendation to come to this place for a cake earlier today. We walk in and are met by someone standing behind the counter. He offered no hello and no help whatsoever. My family and I tried to ask some basic questions about wedding cakes but were just told that we had to setup and appointment to do anything but we were too late to setup one today (1 hour before closing). We are from out of town and can't easily come back. No sort of help or assistance was offered and they weren't busy with anything. Very rude and disheartening experience especially since we were trying to give them good business. Do not recommend. Will go with the much more accommodating and helpful Bit of Swiss.
I went with a group of people looking at wedding cakes and had a bad experience. As we walked in, two men came out from the back and stared at us. We got no "Hello" or anything. Didn't seem at all interested in trying to help or explain. We explained that we didn't have time to set up an appointment because we were from out of town, but wanted to ask some basic questions. We were even willing to buy a cake to taste it. But they flatly told us to call and talk over the phone because we hadn't made an appointment. Very rude, definitely won't be purchasing a wedding cake from them.
Everything they make is just oh so good! Yes, they are pricey but they have the best bavarian cream in Michiana!!!
Any time I've needed to consult with them about an order, I have scheduled an appointment in advance. It is a small, family-owned business and that's just the considerate thing to do if you are going to be asking for at least a half hour or more of their time.
The wedding cake provided for our son's wedding last weekend was by far the best we have ever tasted. Many guests remarked about the wonderful flavor and silky texture! Many thanks!
I have been a huge fan of Flour Shop Bakery since I moved to the area in 1999. Their Bavarian cream cakes is our go-to choice for birthdays, both for the office and for family. We also love to go there first thing in the morning to get freshly iced doughnuts. The pies are wonderful!
